Royal Star Magnolia

General Information

Royal Star Magnolia is a dwarf magnolia that grows with upright, mounded form.  It grows on multiple stems. It is a slow growing tree. In early spring, it produces large, snowy white, double blossoms. These lovely, star shaped blossoms are mildly fragrant. In fall, the green foliage turns yellow to bronze. Wonderful specimen for your lawn or landscape. Can be used as a shrub border or foundation planting.

Additional Information

Magnolia stellata ‘Royal Star’ grows best in Full Sun to Part Shade. It will grow 15-20′ tall with a spread of 10-15′. Plant in zones 4 to 8. Avoid Southern exposure that may cause buds to open early, and suffer possible frost damage.

Care & Shipping Notes

The Royal Star will grow best in moist, well drained soil.  Prefers rich soil.  Will not tolerate soil that is extremely wet or dry.  Plant in an area where it is protected from strong winds. Buds may suffer frost damage in early spring or late winter.  Less susceptible to frost damage than the species. No serious insect or disease problems.
