Italian Genovese Basil
General Information
Italian Genovese Basil is a great choice for your herb garden. These are heirloom, organic seeds from Renees Garden seed company. The plants can grow upwards of 12 to 18 inches tall, but are best when kept to 8 inches or so in height. This Italian basil will produce an abundant harvest. The basil leaves are quite attractive, with a glossy, deep green color. They have a rich and fragrant overall flavor. They are great in tomato based dishes, for pesto or a variety of other culinary uses. Each seed packet will weigh 1 gram, containing approximately 650 seeds.
Additional Information
This Italian Genovese Basil is a heat loving plant and will grow best when temperatures remain 50 degrees or above. This is typically best planted April to July in warmer areas, May to June in cooler areas. Plants should be at least 8 inches apart, whether in the garden or containers, to allow for full growth.
