Cristi Hibiscus
General Information
The Cristi Hibiscus forms a round, bushy plant with upright growth. Its enormous ruby red flowers grow 6-8″ across. The blooms emerge in late summer continuing until fall. The Cristi Hibiscus was introduced by Bailey Nurseries and was bred by Hugh and Ruth Cocker of Rochester, MN. Excellent plant for the perennial bed. Plant in mass for an attractive border. Use in native plantings and woodland gardens.
Additional Information
Hibiscus moscheutos ‘Cocker’ grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 4-6′ tall with a spread of 3-4′. Plant in zones 4 to 9. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. May self seed in optimum conditions.
Care & Shipping Notes
Cristi will grow in average, well drained soil. Prefers rich, moist, organic soil. Will tolerate a variety of soil types. Aphids, mites, mealybugs, liothrips, weevil and caterpillars may cause damage. Anthracnose, leaf spot, root rot, rust, blossom blight and bacterial spots may be problems. Deadheading may promote continued blooming. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI.
