Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry
‘The Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry is a heavily branched tree with attractive spreading branches. It grows in rounded form. The showy white spring blooms and sweet, purple black fruits that follow have made this tree very popular. Birds and humans compete for the fruits of the Serviceberry, which taste somewhat like a blueberry. Use the berries in pies, jams and jellies. The leaves emerge with a tinge of purple and mature to a rich green. Fall foliage is a brilliant red-orange. The smooth, streaked bark adds winter interest. The Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry is a cross between A. aurborea and A. laevis. This is a great tree for along the edge of a wooded area. Use the showy spring branches in cut flower arrangements. Can be used along streams or ponds. Great specimen tree or shrub border.
Amelanchier x grandiflora ‘Autumn Brilliance’ grows best in Full to Part Sun. It will grow 15 to 25 feet tall with a similar spread. Plant in zones 3 to 8. Attracts birds & butterflies.
