Victor Crape Myrtle

General Information

Victor Crape Myrtle is a moderate sized shrub, growing upwards of 6 feet tall.  The size can be variable, with it only growing 3 feet tall in the colder climates.  It is a highly ornamental plant, with many points of interest.  It is multi-stemmed, upright and rounded in shape.  The foliage is dark green all through the growing season, turning yellowish-red in the fall.  The flower clusters are large, 6 to 9 inches in length.  They are dark red, blooming mid to late summer.  Reddish-brown bark exfoliates as the shrub matures. 

Additional Information

Lagerstroemia indica ‘Victor’ grows to a height of 3 to 6 feet, with a spread of 2 to 4 feet.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 6 to 9.  It tends to grow best in full sunlight.  Victor does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
