General Information
Scentlandia Sweetspire is a deciduous shrub. It is a smaller shrub, growing to 3 feet tall. This shrub has great ornamental appeal in a variety of landscaping areas. The foliage is deep green in color throughout the growing season. It is a very attractive deep red in the fall. The flowers bloom in abundance beginning in the late spring to early summer. They are bottlebrush in shape and longer than many other sweetspires. These flowers are white in color, and have a delightful fragrance.
Additional Information
Itea virginica ‘SMNIVDFC’ grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Scentlandia can grow well in full sun to full shade. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
