Description

Cheyenne Privet

General Information

Cheyenne Privet is a deciduous shrub.  It can be a larger sized shrub, growing upwards of 12 feet tall.  It grows in an upright, dense overall fashion.  The Cheyenne Privet is ideal for hedges, or for a variety of other landscaping uses.  The foliage has a nice glossy appearance and is dark green in color.  This privet can stand up well to shearing and shaping, but doing this may result in fewer flowers the next year.  The white flowers are produced in clusters in the springtime.  Berries mature to black in the fall.  The Cheyenne Privet was developed in Wyoming, giving it great hardiness qualities!

Additional Information

Ligustrum vulgare ‘Cheyenne’ reaches a height of 8 to 12 feet, with a spread of 5 to 6 feet.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. Cheyenne Privet can grow in full to part sunlight conditions.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
