Cameo Magnolia is a great ornamental tree that would do well in different areas of your landscape. It is a smaller tree, growing to about 12 feet tall. Its size makes it perfect as a centerpiece for the delightful ornamental value it supplies. The flowers emerge generally in late March to early April. The flowers are large in size, and blooms in great abundance. The flowers have a reddish-purple exterior color, and white blushed with purple on the interior. The leaves have a nice green color, providing a nice appearance for the rest of the growing season.
Magnolia ‘Cameo’ grows to a height of 10 to 15 feet, with a spread of 4 to 6 feet. It is recommended for USDA planting zones 5 to 9. It tends to grow and flower best in full sunlight. Cameo grows well in rich, well drained soils with consistent amounts of moisture.
