The foliage of the little bluestem is typically narrow and finely textured in overall appearance. The leaves will be powder blue-green in color in the spring and summer months. They will take on very attractive deep red color beginning in the early fall. Brush Strokes Little Bluestem is a low maintenance plant that will provide great ornamental appeal for your landscape.

Schizachyrium scoparium ‘Brush Strokes’ will be 32 to 36 inches tall, with a width of 22 to 26 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Brush Strokes Little Bluestem will grow best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture a variety of soil conditions. Once established, it can have nice drought tolerance.
