General Information
Niagara Falls Switchgrass is an ornamental perennial grass. This plant will have a nice rounded overall form, with great ornamental appeal. It would be a nice choice for a variety of landscaping areas. The leaves of the Niagara Falls Switchgrass will have an arching form, reminiscent of Maiden Grass in appearance. It will be a very attractive powder blue to green in color. Towards the fall, there will be large, open cream color seed heads. This native cultivar is a great, low maintenance plant, tolerant of a variety of conditions. The Niagara Falls Switchgrass is a new addition to the Prairie Winds collection from Proven Winners.
Additional Information
Panicum virgatum ‘Niagara Falls’ will be approximately 4 feet tall, with a similar overall width. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Niagara Falls Switchgrass will grow well in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in a variety of soil conditions. Once established, it will have good drought tolerance.
