Blue Muffin Viburnum

General Information

Blue Muffin Viburnum is a deciduous shrub.  It is great in borders, as a hedge or many other landscaping areas.  This multi-stem shrub grows in an upright manner, with great ornamental features.  The oval shaped leaves are slightly glossy and dark green in the spring and summer months.  Usually has nice red fall color.  Large, flat top flower clusters, blooming in the late spring to early summer.  The small individual flowers are white in color.  Small berries follow the flowers.  They ripen to deep blue in the late summer to early fall.  These berries are very attractive to birds!

Additional Information

Viburnum dentatum ‘Christom’ grows to a height of 5 to 7 feet, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 8.  It can be planted in full to partial sunlight.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  It is not known to have any serious disease issues.
