Blue Explosion Clematis
General Information
Blue Explosion Clematis is a vining perennial. It can grow to be moderate in size, reaching 9 feet tall. As a vining plant, it will need to be grown on an archway, arbor, fence or some sort of supports to grow properly. There are different varieties of clematis flowering. This particular variety will bloom on old wood in the late spring and on new growth from mid to late summer. The flowers are quite large, semi-double in make-up. They will be violet-blue in color, with pink accents at the tips.

Clematis ‘Blue Explosion’ will be 7 to 9 feet tall, with a varied spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. Blue Explosion Clematis will grow well in full to part sun conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
