Bird’s Nest Spruce

General Information

Birds Nest Spruce is a slow growing dwarf cultivar of picea abies which is commonly known as Norway spruce.  The branches ascend somewhat giving the bush the appearance of a flattened sphere.  The name Bird’s Nest comes from the slight depression or ‘nest’ in the middle of the top of the mature bush. Great choice for a rock garden or foundation planting.  Can be grown as a border or in a container. Attractive as a specimen shrub.
