General Information
Stand by Me Clematis is an ornamental perennial plant. This is a moderate sized plant, reaching to three feet tall. This is a bush form clematis, but still may benefit from being staked or grown near some form of support. The Stand by Me Clematis is a great choice for your landscape! The leaves are dark green in color, new leaves having a bit of a bronze tint. This clematis is in ‘Group 3’ meaning flowers will bloom on new wood. The flowers are a very attractive violet-blue in color. Creamy, thread-like seedheads follow the flowers. The initial bloom of flowers will happen early to mid summer, with sporadic rebloom after that.

Clematis ‘Stand by Me‘ will be 34 to 38 inches tall, with a spread of 24 to 36 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 7. Stand by Me Clematis can grow well in full to partial sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
