Nanking Bush Sandcherry

General Information

Nanking Bush Sandcherry features showy, white flowers in early spring. These fragrant, white blooms have a blush of pink. The shrub is multi-stemmed and grows with broad, spreading form. It’s foliage is a soft green that darkens in fall. Abundant red fruits are approximately 1/3″ and ripen in mid summer. The fruits are excellent for jams, jellies or pies. They are also loved by the wildlife. Nanking Bush Sand Cherry is a great way to attract wildlife. WARNING: Seeds are poisonous if ingested. The Nanking Bush Sand Cherry makes a wonderful hedge row or windbreak when planted in mass.

Additional Information

Prunus tomentosa grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 8-10′ tall with a spread of 10-15′. Plant in zones 2 to 6. Attracts butterflies, birds and other wildlife. Drought and cold resistant.
