Purple Poppy Mallow is a native perennial plant. This plant is native to the central United States. It is a lower growing plant that is perfect for a variety of landscaping areas. It is mat-forming, spreading plant with nice foliage and beautiful flowers. The multi-lobed foliage is deep green in color and provides dense groundcover throughout the growing season. The cup shaped flowers grow in abundance from mid spring until fall. They are deep magenta in color, with a white central eye.

Callirhoe involucrata grows to a height of 9 to 12 inches, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. Purple Poppy Mallow tends to grow best in full sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. Once established, it has good drought tolerance. It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
