Green Velvet Boxwood
The Green Velvet Boxwood is a very hardy, compact, rounded evergreen shrub. This variety has velvety dark green leaves that hold their color through the winter. Inconspicuous pale green flowers. It should be planted in an area where it is sheltered from strong winds, full sun and heavy snows. Removing heavy snow as soon as possible will help eliminate the possibility of broken branches. The Green Velvet Boxwood makes an excellent hedge or specimen plant. Use in foundation plantings or as a low hedge. Great addition to formal gardens.
Buxus ‘Green Velvet’ grows best in Full to Part Sun. It will grow 2-3′ tall with a similar spread. Plant in zones 4 to 8. Good deer and rabbit resistance. Provide afternoon shade to prevent sun scorch.
