General Information
Super Star Onions are a great addition to your garden. They are a day neutral onion variety, typically growing well in most all of the country. They have the distinction of having an All-American Selections Award. They are moderate in size, growing 3 to 4 inches wide. Super Star onions are white in color, with a sweet flavor. It is great for a variety of cooking uses, on sandwiches or in salads. They are said to have a storage time of up to two months, in proper storage conditions.
Additional Information
Allium cepa ‘Superstar’ has a foliage height of 6 to 10 inches, with a spread of 3 to 4 inches. It is said to grow best in USDA planting zones 3 to 9. SuperStar tends to grow best with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. The bulbs begin to form once there is 12 to 14 hours of sun each day.
