Elberta Peach

General Information

Elberta Peach is fruit tree. It is moderate in size, reaching up to 15 feet tall. This tree will grow in a generally upright, rounded overall form. It has nice ornamental appeal, to go along with great fruit production. The foliage is longer and narrow, with a nice dark green color. In the springtime, there are abundant clusters of flowers. They are fragrant and a beautiful rosy-red in color. The fruits mature to orangish-yellow, blushed with red. They will typically ripen late July to mid August. The peaches are large in size, with a juicy and sweet taste. They great for fresh eating, desserts and canning. Self fertile tree, but may produce more if a pollinating partner is nearby.

Additional Information

Prunus ‘Elberta’ will be 10 to 15 feet tall, with a spread of 10 to 12 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 8. The Elberta Peach tends to do best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
