General Information

The Bloodgood Japanese Maple is a popular cultivar. It is very hardy. Its red to deep purple leaves are star shaped. Foliage turns crimson red in the fall.  Protect from southwest winds and provide some afternoon shade to eliminate the chance of summer burn.  The foliage holds its color well into the summer.  The sturdy, upright Bloodgood Japanese Maple tends to spread with age. Beautiful specimen or accent tree.

Additional Information

Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’ grows best in Full Sun to Part Shade. It will grow 10-20′ tall with a similar spread. Plant in zones 5 to 8. Deer tolerant.

Care & Shipping Notes

For best results, plant in average to moist soil. Will tolerate some sand and clay in the soil. No serious insect or disease problems. Aphids, scale and leaf spots may be problems.  NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI.
