Description

Sargent Tina Crabapple

General Information

Sargent Tina Crabapple is a small tree with beautiful ornamental features.  The tree is densely branched, spreading and deciduous.  Oval shaped, slightly cupped dark green leaves add long appeal to the tree.  Pink flower buds emerge early spring.  In April, a profusion of fragrant white flowers covers the tree.  The flowers are about 1 inch in diameter.  The flowers are followed by small red crabapples that come to maturity in the fall.  The fruits can persist into winter and are attractive to birds.

Additional Information

Malus sargentii ‘Tina’ grows to a height of 6 to 8 feet, with a spread of 8 to 10 feet.  It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 7.  It grows best in full sunlight.  Sargent Tina does well in well drained soils with at least average amounts of moisture.  Good disease resistant qualities.
