General Information
Color Guard Yucca is a great plant that will look great in different areas your landscape. It forms as an upright clump of foliage, with a beautiful flower display. The leaves are sword shaped, with long curly white filaments(or threads) forming along the edges of the leaves. These leaves are green along the margins, and yellow-gold in color down the center of the leaf. In the late springtime a stalk rises above the foliage, up to 3 to 4 feet tall, carrying an abundance of flowers. Several stems grow off the main stalk, with a good deal of bell shaped creamy white flowers. These flowers are quite attractive to butterflies.

Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard' grows to a height of 3 to 6 feet, with a spread of 2 to 3 feet. It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 10. It tends to do best in full sunlight. Color Guard grows best in well drained soils with average amounts of moisture. It is tolerant of many average soil conditions and can be tolerant of low moisture amounts. It is not known to have any disease or insect issues.
