Description

Wild Quinine

General Information

Wild Quinine is a perennial plant. This plant is native to a large swath of the eastern United States. It would be a nice choice for prairie planting, or a variety of other native planting areas. The plant will form as a lower growing clump of larger deep green leaves, with smaller leaves growing up the stems. Abundant clusters of small bright white flowers. They will be in bloom typically from May through July. Visited by a variety of insect species.

Additional Information

Parthenium integrifolium will be 2 to 4 feet tall, with a width of 18 to 24 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. Wild Quinine will do best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average or lesser amounts of moisture in well drained soils. Once established, it will have good drought tolerance.
