Apache Rose Switchgrass is an ornamental grass. It is a grass of moderate height, reaching to 4 feet tall. This grass has a dense, upright growth habit, with great ornamental appeal. It would be a nice choice for a variety of landscaping areas. The long, narrow leaves will be grey-green in color through the spring and summer months. They can take on very nice reddish accents in the fall. The Apache Rose Switchgrass will have large, airy rosy-red flower clusters in the late summertime.

Panicum virgatum 'Apache Rose' will be 3 to 4 feet tall, with a spread of 24 to 30 inches. This switchgrass in recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Apache Rose Switchgrass will grow best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. Shows good drought tolerance once established.
