General Information

Swamp Milkweed is a perennial plant. This native plant is found over a broad range of the lower 48 states. This is a taller ornamental plant, and is an important food source for a variety of pollinators. The leaves are narrow and longer in appearance and deep green in color. Large, abundant flower clusters in the mid-summer time. The flowers have a wonderful fragrance and are deep pink in color. Seed pods follow these flowers. The Swamp Milkweed is a great choice for native planting areas, butterfly gardens and a variety of other landscaping areas.

Additional Information

Asclepias incarnata will be 3 to 5 feet tall, with a width of 2 to 3 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Swamp Milkweed can grow in full to partial sunlight conditions. It will do well with moderate amounts of moisture in a variety of soil conditions.
