General Information

Spice Girl Viburnum is a deciduous shrub.  It can get larger in size, growing to 7 feet tall.  It has an overall rounded and upright growth habit.  Spice Girl has great ornamental appeal, perfect for a number of landscaping areas.  The leaves emerge dark green in spring, keeping a nice appearance through the summer.  In the fall the leaves turn a beautiful bright red in color.  Abundant, large flower clusters in the springtime.  The flowers are white in color, with a delightful fragrance.  Berries follow the flowers, ripening to blue-black.  Another Korean Spice Viburnum, such as Spice Baby, is needed for proper pollination.

Additional Information

Viburnum carlesii ‘Spiro’ grows to a height of 6 to 7 feet, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8.  Spice Girl can grow in full to partial sunlight conditions.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
