Vertigo Purple Fountain Grass is an annual grass. It can be a perennial in warmer areas. This plant will be a great choice for your landscape and for use in containers. The leaves are long, wide and arching in form, coming to a point at the end. The dense, tall, upright growing foliage clump is very ornamental. The leaves are a very attractive purple-black in color. The underside of leaf can darker green in color. The Vertigo Purple Fountain Grass is a warmer season grass, thriving in summer months!

Pennisetum purpureum 'Tift 8' will will be 4 to 8 feet tall, with a width of 2 to 3 feet. Although it is considered an annual in most areas, it can be a perennial plant in USDA zones 8 to 11. Vertigo Purple Fountain Grass will grow well in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture. Once established, it will have nice heat and drought tolerance.
