Description

Northblue Blueberry

General Information

Northblue Blueberry is a deciduous fruiting shrub.  It has great berries, to go along with some nice ornamental appeal.  Smaller size fruiting shrub, growing upwards of 3 feet tall and wide.  It has very nice glossy deep green foliage through the growing season, turning a nice red in the fall.  Nice, ornamental clusters of white bell shaped flowers in the springtime.  Berries are large in size, maturing to dark blue in color in early July.  Great classic blueberry flavor, perfect for fresh eating or in a variety of cooking uses.

Additional Information

Vaccinium ‘Northblue’ grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet.  It is recommended for USDA planting zones 3 to 8.  Northblue tends to grow and produce best in full sunlight.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained, slightly acidic soils.  Exhibits great cold hardiness!
