May Night Salvia

General Information

May Night Salvia is a nice perennial plant.  It is perfect for borders, flower beds, large containers or a variety of landscaping areas.  It forms as a clump of foliage, with upright flower stems.  The leaves are oval shaped and deep green in color, keeping a nice appearance in the growing season.  They emit a nice aroma when crushed.  Abundant blooming in the summertime.  The individual flowers are small, growing densely on the stems.  They are violet-purple in color.  The flowers are great for attracting butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. 

Additional Information

Salvia nemorosa ‘Mainacht’ grows to a height of 15 to 18 inches, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 8.  May Night Salvia does best in full sunlight.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
