General Information
Narrow, green foliage grows in a graceful, upright mound. It forms a tight clump, and will expand slowly through rhizomes. Great accent or specimen plant for areas where there is plenty of room to grow. Gracillimus maintains good interest summer through winter. In late fall, coppery pink plumes rise above the green foliage. If the season is too cool, it will not produce plumes. The graceful arching foliage begins to turn yellow after the first frost. This tan-yellow dry foliage provides good winter interest. Use in cut or dried flower arrangements. Maiden Gracillimus becomes less vigorous if planted in too much shade. Too much shade may cause it to flop, and require staking. Great choice for a border, meadow garden, or naturalized area. Plant along slopes or ditches to help control erosion.

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
