Magnus Coneflower
General Information
Magnus Coneflower is a perennial plant. It is a coneflower of moderate size, reaching 3 feet tall. The plant will have an upright form, with flowers held on stems above a clump of foliage. The Magnus Coneflower would be a nice choice for a variety of landscape settings. The leaves are deep green in color, keeping a nice appearance through the growing seasons. The flowers will bloom in abundance from midsummer to early fall. The petals will emerge rosy pink, fading to lighter pink as they age. The center seed cone will be orangish-brown. The seed cone will be attractive to birds, if left standing into the colder months.
Additional Information
Echinacea purpurea ‘Magnus’ will be 30 to 36 inches tall, with a width of 18 to 24 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 8. Magnus Coneflower can grow well in full to partial sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well draining soils. Once established, it will have good drought tolerance.
