General Information

Lemony Lace Elderberry is a deciduous shrub. It is moderate in size, growing up to 5 feet tall. It typically has a dense, rounded overall growth habit. This shrub has great ornamental appeal, perfect for a variety of landscaping areas. The foliage is narrow and finely cut, somewhat fern-like in nature. The leaves will emerge bright yellow, edged in red in the springtime. The foliage will transition to a very attractive yellowish-green through the rest of the growing season. Lemony Lace Elderberry will have large, abundant clusters of bright white flowers in the early spring.

Additional Information

Sambucus racemosa ‘SMNSRD4’ will reach 3 to 5 feet tall, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 7. Lemony Lace Elderberry can grow in full to partial sunlight conditions. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
