General Information
Iron Butterfly Ironweed is a perennial plant. It will have a rounded form, with a good deal of ornamental appeal. The foliage is narrow and finely textured, deep green in color. It provides great appeal through the growing seasons. Iron Butterfly Ironweed will have attractive deep pinkish-purple flowers. The frilly flowers will bloom in abundance in the mid to late summertime. The flowers will be attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. The Iron Butterfly Ironweed will be a nice choice for a variety of landscaping spaces!

Vernonia lettermannii ‘Iron Butterfly’ will be 30 to 36 inches tall, with a similar width. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Iron Butterfly Ironweed can grow in full to part sunlight conditions. It will do well with average to lower moisture amounts in a variety of soil types.
