General Information
Strawberry Sundae Hydrangea is a wonderful plant that would look great in many different areas of your landscape. This is a smaller sized hydrangea, 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide, giving it the opportunity to be placed where some of the larger sized hydrangeas may not fit. The plant is densely branched, with dark green oval shaped foliage, giving the plant a great look even before the flowers appear. The flowers of this hydrangea are quite spectacular. The flower clusters are in a cone shape and can be 7 inches long and 5 inches wide. The flowers emerge white, with an occasional lime green shade, changing to light pink, before turning strawberry red. These flowers bloom over a long period, from summer into the early fall. The size and beauty of the flowers, combined with the long blooming time make this hydrangea great to have in your landscape.
Additional Information
Hydrangea paniculata 'Rensun' grows to a height of 4 to 5 feet, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. It is recommended for climate zones 3 to 8. It can grow in full to partial sunlight. Strawberry Sundae grows best in well drained soils with moderate amounts of moisture. The blooms occur on new season growth, so it may be best to prune in late winter to early spring to encourage the best blooming conditions.

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
