General Information
Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea is a great shrub that would fit well in many different areas of a landscape. It is a moderately large hydrangea, at up to 8 feet tall and wide. This would keep it from fitting well in smaller areas, but it would look great as a hedge, foundation planting or any other moderately sized landscaping area. This shrub has all season interest, with many different items from most hydrangeas. The leaves are large in size, up to 8 inches long, and very reminiscent of oak leaves. The leaves have 4 to 8 lobes, with a coarse texture. They are dark green in the growing season, before turning colors of maroon, bronze and purple in the fall. The flowers on this shrub are quite spectacular. They grow in 12 inch long, pyramidal shaped clusters. The flowers emerge white, changing to light pink before fading out. These flowers hold over a long period, up to two months, in the summer. Exfoliating stems add a good deal of interest in the winter months.

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
