General Information
Castle Spire Holly is an evergreen shrub. It is a moderate sized shrub, at up to 10 feet tall. It grows in an upright and narrow overall fashion. It is a great shrub for a variety of landscaping areas. The evergreen leaves are smaller, but grow densely to give the plant a nice full appearance. They are dark green in color. Most holly plants are either male or female, with the Castle Spire being female. Following small white spring flowers are berries. They mature to bright red in the fall. To get these berries, a male blue holly, such as Castle Wall, is required.
Additional Information
Ilex x meserveae 'Hachfee' grows to a height of 6 to 10 feet, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 7. Castle Spire can grow in full to partial sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
