General Information

Starlet Show Off Forsythia is a great plant that would work well in many different areas of your landscape.  It is more compact than the regular Show Off Forsythia, at a maximum of 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide.  This creates the opportunity to put this plant in much smaller spaces, like a border, small bed or many other places.  Although this and most other forsythias are known for their flowers, it has nice foliage as well.  The leaves are small in size and oval to elliptical in shape.  They have a good green color in the spring and summer that turns a nice bronze color in the fall.  The flower display this forsythia puts on is quite spectacular.  It has small, four petaled yellow flowers that bloom from the base of the plant to the end of the stems.  These plants are an early spring bloomer.

Additional Information

Forsythia x intermedia 'Minfor6' grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet.  It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 8.  It likes to grow in full sunlight.  Starlet Show Off grows best in rich, well drained soils with average to moderate amounts of water.  It is however an adaptable plant, and seems to have good tolerance of urban conditions.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
