General Information
Empress Wu Hosta is a perennial plant. This plant is quite large, reaching up to 4 feet tall. It will form as a large, upright mound of attractive foliage. Empress Wu Hosta would be a great choice for shaded areas of your landscape. The leaves have a ridged, thick texture, oval in shape. They have a very nice deep green color, with slightly lighter stems. Bell shaped flowers bloom from early to mid summer on tall stems above the foliage. The flowers are violet in color. Great for attracting hummingbirds!
Additional Information
Hosta ‘Empress Wu’ will be 3 to 4 feet tall, with a spread of 5 to 6 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Empress Wu will do best in partial to full shade conditions. It will do well with average, consistent amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
