General Information
Red Lake Currant is a great shrub with many ornamental qualities that would fit in the landscape or in an orchard setting. It is smaller in size, growing to a height of 5 feet. It has a generally upright, rounded form that grows in full with foliage, giving it good full look. The leaves are smaller in size, with three lobes and broadly serrated edges. They keep a nice green color throughout the growing season. In the mid-spring, clusters of yellow-green flowers form, followed by the currant fruits. The red fruits ripen in drooping clusters in July. They can be eaten fresh, but are usually used for jams and a range of other culinary uses.

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal.
