General Information
The glossy, dark green leaves of the Black Autumn Magic Chokeberry provide a good backdrop for the mounds of white flower clusters that appear in spring. The flowers give way to edible, dark blue-black fruits. The fruits are excellent for making jams and jellies. If not picked, the fruits will persist into winter. 'Autumn Magic' descibes well the colorful mixture of reds and purples in the fall. Autumn Magic is self-fertile, so it will flower with only one. Excellent for a mixed border or hedge row. Excellent ornamental qualities and great for healthy eating, too! Plant in mass for the best spring show!
Additional Information
Aronia melanocarpa 'Autumn Magic' grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 4 to 6 feet tall with a spread of 4 to 6 feet. Plant in zones 3 to 8. Attracts birds. Drought tolerant. Very hardy shrub!

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
