Center Glow Ninebark
General Information
Center Glow Ninebark sports bright red foliage although it is yellow-green in color when it emerges. Blooms in summer showing off creamy-white flowers. Bright red seedheads that change to tan follow the blooms. During the winter, the older wood has attractive peeling bark creating multi-season interest.

Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Center Glow’ grows best in full sun to part shade. It will reach a mature height of 6 to 8 feet with a similar spread. Plant in zones 3 to 7. Attracts birds. Tolerates clay soil.

Grows best in average well-drained soil. Apply slow release tree & shrub fertilizer in early spring Plant in an area with good air circulation to help prevent foliage problems. Tolerates a variety of soil conditions. Prune during late winter to encourage new growth. No serious insect or disease problems although leaf spots and fireblight could occur.
