Description

Blue False Indigo – Native

General Information

Lavender-blue, sweet pea like flowers of the Blue False Indigo hang from softly colored racemes.  These delightful blooms sway above a compact mound of blue-green foliage.  The foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season.  This is a great, dependable plant to add color and texture to your garden or landscape.  Large, brown, papery seed pods emerge after the blooms die off.  These pods add great visual appeal to your garden as well as unique sound effects with the rattle of the dry pods.  The nearly 2′ tall blooms will make a great addition to your cut flower arrangements.  Use the dried pods for unique appeal in your dried flower bouquets. 2010 Perennial Plant of the Year.
