General Information
Black Swan Elephant Ear is an annual plant. The plant will have an overall upright and arching growth habit. It is extraordinarily large, reaching 6 feet tall and wide. As with many elephant ear plants the leaves are extremely large. The stems form in a clump, glossy and deep black in color. The broad leaves of the Black Swan Elephant Ears are black, with a purplish tint. This plant would be a great choice for your annual garden, or planted in a large container! This elephant ear can be perennial in USDA climate zones 8 to 10, but should be considered annual in colder zones.
Additional Information
Colocasia ‘Black Swan’ will be 5.5 to 6 feet tall, with a width of 5 to 7 feet. It can grow well in full to partial sunlight conditions. The plant will grow best in consistent amounts of water in fertile soils. It is said to have good deer and rabbit resistance.
