General Information
The Crimson Pygmy Barberry is a dwarf mounding form of the Japanese red barberry. Its compact, rounded form makes it a good choice for smaller areas. Beware of the prickly thorns that will keep predators away. The intense red-bronze colors make it worth a few pricks! The deep red leaves hold their color well throughout the season. The Crimson Pygmy makes a wonderful low hedge. Contrast with yellow or light green plants for a stunning landscape. Crimson Pygmy Barberry is a great plant to add rich color to your landscape. Orange yellow fall foliage. A wonderful, hardy, low maintenance shrub!

Berberis thunbergii 'Crimson Pygmy' should be planted in Full Sun for best color. It will grow 2' tall with a spread of 2-3'. Plant in zones 4 to 7. Tolerates urban pollution. Deer resistant. Attracts birds.
