General Information
Mr. Bowling Ball Arborvitae is a delightful shrub with many different uses in your landscape. It is perfect as a low hedge or as a border. This shrub stays in a smaller, controlled overall size. It typically keeps a rounded, globe shaped form, with little need for pruning to maintain its shape. It has dense, lacy, thread-like foliage that is soft to the touch. The foliage has a light blue-green color, keeping its color year round.
Additional Information
Thuja occidentalis 'Bobozam' grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 7. It generally does best in full sun, but can also do well with some afternoon shade in warmer climates. Mr. Bowling Ball tends to do best in well drained soils with average amounts of moisture. It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues. If in an exposed area, it can experience some foliage burn in the winter time. Keep in mind that shipping size and height are an average of our plants and can vary by season.

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
