General Information

New Vintage Violet Yarrow is a delightful plant that would fit well in different areas of your landscape.  It grows in a compact fashion, with deeply cut and fern-like foliage.  The foliage has a grey-green color, and has a nice fragrance.  The individual flowers are quite small, growing in larger clusters.  The flowers are violet-red in color, with a white center eye.  They bloom all summer long, into the early fall.  Rebloom is possible, if spent flower heads are removed.  Great for cut flower uses and for attracting butterflies and bees!

Additional Information

Achillea millefolium 'Balvinviolet' grows to a height of 12 to 14 inches, with a spread of 10 to 12 inches.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8.  It grows best in full sunlight.  New Vintage Violet grows best in well drained soils with average amounts of moisture.  It tends to do best in average soils, as it can tend to flop in rich soils.  After the plant is established, it exhibits good drought tolerance.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
