Apple Slices Spigelia is a perennial plant. It will form as a nice rounded mound of foliage with flowers held above. The leaves grow densely, a nice deep green in color. It will keep a nice appearance through the year. The flowers are smaller in size, growing in abundance from late spring to midsummer. The tubular shaped flowers are a beautiful dark red in color. Apple Slices Spigelia will be a great choice for your landscape. Great for attracting hummingbirds to your garden!

Spigelia marilandica 'Apple Slices' will be 18 to 22 inches tall, with a width of 16 to 18 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Apple Slice Spigelia will do well with average to moderate amounts of moisture in well draining soils. It will grow well in sunny spots, will require extra watering to keep it looking its best. This plant will tend to do best in part sun conditions in warmer areas.
