Crimson Fans Mukdenia is a great plant that could fit well in many different areas of your landscape. It is a shorter plant, growing to 12 inches high. This plant is great for any shady area, under a large tree, in a shaded garden area, along a woodland path or many other spots. In the early spring, flowers bloom on branched stems above the foliage. The flowers are very small and white and bloom in abundance, providing a great point of interest. The leaves of this plant are quite beautiful. The leaves are broad, rounded, multilobed with jagged edges and about 5 inches in length. The leaves emerge bright green in the spring, turning bronze green, before maturing to green with crimson edges by the summer and into the fall.

Mukdenia rossii 'Karasuba' grows to a height of 8 to 12 inches, with a spread of 18 to 24 inches. The flower stems reach a height of 18 inches. It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 9. It grows best in partial shade. Crimson Fans grows well in fertile, well drained soils with moderate amounts of moisture. This plant is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
