General Information
Baby Joe offers the same look as the commonly grown variety but at a much smaller scale. This makes it much easier to fit into the middle of the flower border or even into large containers. Baby Joe has sturdy dark purple-red stems, dark green foliage, and large panicles of mauve-purple flowers. Butterflies are attracted in droves to this beautiful little plant! This plant is also nice for adding color in the garden at a time when many other plants are finished for the season. Even though the fruit is not ornamentally significant the burgundy stems can be quite attractive.
Additional Information
Plants should be cut all the way back after they are finished flowering. At maturity this plant will reach 2 to 3 feet in height and a width of 18 to 24 inches. It grows at a medium rate. It is deer and rabbit resistant. Zone 3 to 9.
