Purple Flame Iris is a perennial plant. This is a nice, upright and ornamental plant. It will be a great choice for a number of landscaping areas. The foliage is longer and narrow. It will emerge a beautiful deep purple in color. The leaves will transition to green when the warmer months approach. The flowers of Purple Flame Iris are violet in color, with white veining and a yellow spot at the center. The flowers will begin to bloom from late spring to early summer. They will attract butterflies and hummingbirds!

Iris versicolor 'Purple Flame' will be 2 to 3 feet tall, with a similar width. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 2 to 7. Purple Flame Iris can grow in full to part sun conditions. It will typically grow best with consistent moisture amounts in well draining soils.
